The machine. In a plant manager's terms.

APP/ART builds the positioning, identity and website for robotics and automation companies: industrial, warehouse, lab, agricultural and construction robots, humanoids and machine vision. This page lists four things a buyer checks before a pilot, and what your site has to show for each.

WHAT THE SECTOR COVERS

The machine doing the job, in the terms a plant manager signs off: cycle time, payload, uptime.

THE CHECKS ARE THEIRS · THE ORDER IS OURS
  1. CHECK 01 OF 04

    The safety standard.

ISO 10218 sets the safety requirements for an industrial robot and for the cell it works in. Both parts were republished on 5 February 2025, replacing the 2011 editions.

    ON YOUR SITE

State which edition each product was designed to, and the year.

  2. CHECK 02 OF 04

    The machinery regulation.

Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 becomes mandatory on 20 January 2027. It adds requirements for the cyber-safety of control software and for safety functions that run on AI.

Say whether your declaration of conformity is to the Directive or to the Regulation, and when you move.

  3. CHECK 03 OF 04

    The datasheet.

In a 2025 survey of engineers across industries, 79 percent valued a datasheet when researching a purchase. For a case study the figure was 25 percent.

    ON YOUR SITE

Payload, reach, repeatability and cycle time in a table on the product page, not behind a form.

  4. CHECK 04 OF 04

    The payback sum.

One peer reviewed paper found online calculators promising payback in 6 to 18 months, two vendors estimating about three years, and one palletising cell that came to four years and two months.

    ON YOUR SITE

Show the sum for one real cell, with its inputs. The same paper found vendors usually leave it to the customer.

It was the highest share of the seven sectors, on a sample too small to rank.

FAQS

What robotics founders ask.

NOT ANSWERED HERE?

tony@appart.gi

We found no published list of roles for robotics. The nearest evidence is who answered the 2025 engineer survey: 82 percent in engineering or research, 10 percent in manufacturing, 8 percent in technical sales.

It did in one survey of engineers across industries, 79 percent against 25. The question was about content in general, not robotics. We read it as: publish the numbers first, then the story.

In the same survey the top reasons were the technical complexity of what they were buying, 47 percent, questions on price or stock, 40 percent, and checking what they had read online, 34 percent.

It changes what a buyer asks. From 20 January 2027 a machine placed on the EU market has to meet the Regulation, and the declaration of conformity says which rule it meets.
